The MCU has long conquered the serial sector. In early 2021, “WandaVision” was the first of many Disney Plus series to continuously expand the MCU — and then also launched its own spin-off, “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” starring the von Kathryn Hahn witch Agatha Harkness. Now she gets reinforcements: Joe Locke of the Netflix hit “Heartstopper” joins the cast of “Agatha”.
However, a role name for his character has not yet been revealed has in any case already from his sources get a description of the character that Joe Locke is going to play: a gay teenager with a dark sense of humor.
Does Joe Locke play Wicca in Agatha: Coven of Chaos?
Marvel fans should immediately think of a very specific fan favorite that many have long wanted for an appearance in the MCU: William Kaplan aka Wiccan, one of the Young Avengers, who is usually depicted in the comics as slim with a dark curly head, which would match Joe Locke’s appearance.
It has been suspected for some time that the magical Wiccan and, for example, the lightning-fast young Avenger Speed will join the Marvel film and series universe. And that this could happen in the WandaVision sin-off Agatha: Coven of Chaos makes a lot of sense…
…because in some comic templates Wiccan and Speed are the sons of Scarlet Witch (in the MCU: Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (in the MCU: Paul Bettany), either incarnations of them after the twins’ existence in the Scarlet Witch fantasy world was resolved, or the actual children adopted by two different families. The origin stories are a bit complicated – but anyway, we’ve probably already seen Wiccan and Speed in WandaVision: as twins Billy (short for William) and Tommy (short for Thomas Maximoff/Shepherd aka Speed).

Emma Caulfield, who plays Westwiev burger Dottie on WandaVision, would also return for Agatha: Coven of Chaos. So far, little is known about the exact plot of the spin-off, and shooting is expected to begin in 2022. With the start of “Agatha” we count in the winter of 2023 Disney+.
Until then, we highly recommend watching the great Netflix series Heartstopper, in which Joe Locke plays a gay teen who falls in love with his classmate, Nick Nelson (Kit Connor). The series has already been renewed for season 2 and even season 3. So you don’t have to worry about a sudden cancellation, as just happened with “Fate: The Winx Saga”…
