It’s not a gold explosion – it’s just foliage

Falling leaves from an old ginkgo tree are baffling the Twitter community. On the platform go statues of a giant ginkgo tree shedding its golden leaves.

American entrepreneur Tham Khai Meng writes that the ginkgo tree is one of the oldest living tree species in the world: “Known as a ‘living fossil’, it is the sole survivor of an ancient group of trees that emerged 270 million years ago, before dinosaurs roamed the earth,” Khai continues.

Twitter users are amazed. “I’ve never seen anything like it. The colors are incredible,” said one user. Another quip:
