Kristen Stewart as a Marvel superhero? The “Twilight” star would only be interested in joining the MCU under one condition

Kristen Stewart has now made a name for herself as a critically acclaimed character actress and indie star (including an Oscar nomination for the biopic “Spencer”). However, the former “Twilight” star is rarely seen in blockbusters anymore. In the past, she has made it clear that she is not the biggest fan of Hollywood’s big studio system. However, she is not necessarily against large productions, such as those of today clarified, “I like big movies because I want people to watch them when I’m in them.”

In the context of this topic, stars these days are usually inevitably asked if they would like to get involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the comic universe remains one of the most successful blockbuster franchises (despite some problems in the recent past). However, Kristen Stewart seems anything but keen on this, as she said in the podcast in question: that making a superhero movie sounded like a “fucking nightmare.” But she left a back door open…

For the ‘Barbie’ director, Kristen Stewart would become a Marvel heroine

“The system should change. You’d have to put so much money and trust into one person… and that’s not happening,” Stewart said (via ). “What you end up with instead is this strange, formulaic experience that you can’t build any personal feeling about.”

It sounds like the 33-year-old individual filmmaker with a clear creative vision would like to have more freedom and control in such studio productions. And she already has such a filmmaker in mind, who might even make her think differently: “Like Greta Gerwig If I were doing a Marvel movie, I would be there.”

So if the world of Hollywood really changes and the ‘Barbie’ director can create a Marvel spectacle just the way she wants, we could one day see Kristen Stewart as a superhero on screen. At this point, this would all just be wishful thinking. In the MCU, mastermind Kevin Feige still has a firm grip on the creative reins.

The next stop on the schedule is the highly anticipated sequel “Deadpool 3” aka “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which will hit theaters on July 24, 2024. Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart will next star in the critically acclaimed romantic thriller ‘Love Lies Bleeding’, which hits theaters on June 13.
