“Caught Stealing” is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Charlie Huston, which was published in this country under the title “The Whipping Boy”. Austin Butler will take on the role of washed-up baseball player Hank Thompson, who has been in his prime for days and is involved in a brutal battle for survival in New York’s criminal underworld in the 1990s.

It is still unclear when “Caught Stealing” will be released. However, it appears that Darren Aronofsky is choosing the film over other projects he has recently been linked to (including an Elon Musk biopic). So Filming could take place in 2024 and a theatrical release could follow in 2025.

Meanwhile, Austin Butler can be seen in a new film in cinemas from June 20, 2024. Under the direction of ‘Midnight Special’ creator Jeff Nichols, he gets on a motorcycle alongside Tom Hardy in the motorcycle gang drama ‘The Bikeriders’.
