preparation

Puffed or boiled eggs can be dyed.

  1. Put the ingredients of the corresponding color in a pot (adjust the size of the pot and the amount of ingredients according to the number of eggs you want to dye in the relevant color).
  2. Add the white eggs and cover the contents of the pot with water.
  3. Bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes.
  4. After 20 minutes, carefully remove the eggs and place them in a heatproof bowl.
  5. Pour the liquid in the pot over the eggs, covering them completely.
  6. Add a generous splash of vinegar.
  7. Let cool and leave the eggs in the stock at room temperature for at least four hours (preferably overnight). The longer the eggs sit in the broth, the more intense the color will be.
  8. Remove the eggs from the dyeing liquid and let them dry.
  9. Once the eggs are completely dry, apply some oil on the eggs to intensify the color.

Patterned Easter eggs

To get a beautiful pattern you will need one or two pairs of old tights, scissors, rope and herbs or leaves from the garden. White eggs are easier to dye.
