Two million moviegoers: One of the most successful films of 2023 comes to Disney+ just four months after its theatrical release

About two million people have already bought a movie ticket for ‘Wish’. The Disney animated film can currently be seen on more than 200 screens and can also be streamed as a VoD purchase. If you want to watch it conveniently with a streaming subscription, which is often done over and over again, especially with classic Disney animated films, you won’t have to wait much longer.

“Wish” will be available on Disney+ starting April 3, 2024.

This means there are only about four months between the theatrical release and the streaming subscription release.

“Wish”: an excursion into a magical realm

Like many classic Disney animated films, “Wish” takes us into a magical realm. King Magnifico (original: Chris Pine) rules Rosas and has created a paradise at first glance. Anyone who wants to live here must express their greatest wish to the king. One becomes reality every month. When young Asha (Ariana DeBose) becomes the king’s assistant, she soon discovers that Magnifico is using the wishes to control his population. When a star falls from the sky that has the power to give people back their wishes, an adventure begins…

In his review, FILMSTARTS editor-in-chief Christoph Petersen praises the fact that the latest work, published on the anniversary of the Maushaus, “Disney fans […] takes you on a nostalgic quest through 100 years of animated film history.” This requires 3.5 stars.

It was staged”Wish“ by Chris Buck, who is also responsible for the Oscar-winning smash hit ‘Frozen’ and its sequel ‘Frozen 2’, together with Fawn Veerasunthorn, who previously worked as a storyboard artist on titles such as ‘Zoomania’, ‘Ralph is enough 2: Chaos on the Net” and “Raya and the Last Dragon” were involved.

Hazel Brugger, Patricia Meeden and Julia Beautx can be heard in the German version. The end credits song is by Helene Fischer.
