Much longer wait for “The Batman 2”: Robert Pattinson’s return as the Dark Knight postponed for a whole year

Robert Pattinson celebrated his debut as the Dark Knight of Gotham City with “The Batman” in 2022, which was celebrated by both the press and the public, and which also impressed at the box office with a worldwide gross of approximately $772 million. The exact reasons for the delay of the sequel to ‘The Batman’ are unclear, but DC insiders suspect it all has to do with delays due to the double strike of Hollywood actors and writers last year. ‘The Batman 2’ is part of larger adjustments to the Warner Bros. studio’s release calendar.

The actor “The Bride!”, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and starring Christian Bale, will move to the old American slot “The Batman 2” on October 3, 2025, while the gangster drama “Alto Knights” from “Rain Man”- director Barry Levinson from November 24, 2024 to March 21, 2025. The star-studded next film from master director Paul Thomas Anderson (“There Will Be Blood,” “Magnolia”) will now hit U.S. theaters on August 8, 2025.
