Oscar night is approaching for the 96th time. Many actors and actresses have been able to take home the golden statue over the years, and some of them have made history. Like Lily Gladstone, who could become the first Indigenous person to win the Best Actress Oscar this year.

But who has the most Oscars gathering dust on the shelf? You can find it here:

… is the creator of Mickey Mouse: Walt Disney. This won no fewer than 22 Oscars. He won most of his Oscars between 1932 and 1969 in the “Best Animated Short Film” category for films such as “The Three Little Pigs” and “The Ugly Duckling”. After his death, he won an Oscar for “Winnie the Pooh and the Dog Weather” (1969).

The most Oscars he won in one night came in 1954, when he took home four statues for three different films.

There are several actors who have won three Oscars so far in the categories of ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Supporting Actor’. This year, none of the living stars on this list can break Hepburn’s record; none of them have been nominated.

Oscars

In this category, Hepburn (12 nominations) is only surpassed by Meryl Streep. The 74-year-old has been nominated for an Oscar 21 times so far. Of these, 17 nominations were in the best actress category. So far, however, she has only been able to take home the golden boy three times: in 1979 for “Kramer vs. Kramer”, 1983 for “Sophie’s Choice” and most recently in 2012 for “The Iron Lady”.
