Timothée Chalamet has taken Hollywood by storm in a relatively short time. It was only six years ago that the 28-year-old received his first Oscar nomination – and that was for his breakout role in ‘Call Me By Your Name’. Over the past decade, the actor has worked with some of the dream factory’s most renowned directors, from Christopher Nolan (“Interstellar”) to Greta Gerwig (“Little Women”) to Wes Anderson (“The French Dispatch”) and of course Denis Villeneuve (he is currently in his second theatrical run as Paul Atreidis in “Dune: Part Two”).
But even though Chalamet rose quickly, he initially had to content himself with small appearances, like almost any future movie star. He started his career in the late 2000s with two short horror films before landing a role in a popular crime series at the age of 13 and being able to introduce himself to a larger audience for the first time – albeit only on television:
In the tenth episode of the 19th season “Law & authority“ (“The enemy of the claim is reality”) played the “Wonka‘stars young Eric Foley, son of a biologist couple who conduct controversial experiments with painkillers. In his TV debut, the then 13-year-old only had a short time to make a lasting impression: early in the episode, Eric (as well as the housekeeper) is found murdered in the Foleys’ house.

In the years that followed, Chalamet remained faithful to the small screen, with small and supporting roles from the Hallmark television movie (“Loving Leah”) to the Showtime hit series “Homeland.” In 2014, he finally made the leap to the big screen: Jason Reitman (“Ghostbusters: Legacy”) cast him alongside Adam Sandler and Jennifer Garner in his episodic tragicomedy “#Zeitgeist” before appearing in the sci-fi blockbuster “Interstellar” . Matthew McConaughey’s son in the film. Three years later, Luca Guadagnino offered him one of the two leading roles in his literary adaptation ‘Call Me By Your Name’ – and the rest is history…
