A first preview of ‘Deadpool 3’ has now been released, in which the foul-mouthed mercenary (Ryan Reynolds) will not only make his MCU debut, but also meet X-Man fan favorite Wolverine (again played by Hugh Jackman). . And yet we’re still none the wiser about the exact plot of the comedy actioner and what threat the unlikely duo actually faces.
But reliable insiders usually wanted to know an answer to the latter more than six months ago. An answer that the trailer in question further fueled – and which has now finally been confirmed: the one known as young Diana from the Netflix hit ‘The Crown’. Emma Corrin will truly embody the powerful Cassandra Nova in “Deadpool & Wolverine” (the official title of the sequel).
This is from an official document about the film, which has now found its way online:

Professor X’s evil “twin sister”: This is Cassandra Nova
With Cassandra Nova, Deadpool and Wolverine will certainly have an opponent that will push them both to their limits. The villain can best be described as a kind of annoying twin sister of X-Men leader Charles Xavier (played by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy in the previous “X-Men” films), but that doesn’t quite do justice to the character’s wild origin story.
In the Marvel comics, Cassandra is a so-called Mummudrai, a parasitic life form born on the Astral Plane. She grew up at the same time as Charles in his mother’s womb. But he became aware of the dangerous presence at his side. When she tried to kill him, he killed her instead (this all happened in the womb!).
What Charles didn’t know was that Cassandra had previously been able to replicate herself on a molecular level, leaving behind a copy of herself that went in search of a body and became active decades later – seeking revenge on Charles and his beloved mutants. Like her ‘twin brother’, she has enormous telepathic powers, which she then uses to kill millions of mutants.

How exactly Cassandra fits into the plot of “Deadpool 3” and thus fits into the MCU remains to be seen. But she can even make the multiverse unsafe to put an end to different versions of Charles. It is certain that in his new screen role, Wade Wilson aka Deadpool will have to deal with the Time Variance Authority (TVA), known from the series “Loki”, which apparently sends him on a wild multiverse adventure that also… There will be a lot cameos from other Marvel characters (comebacks from Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Aaron Stanford as Pyro have already been confirmed).
Cassandra Nova’s backstory also suggests that Patrick Stewart and/or James McAvoy could also drop by for a cameo appearance as Professor X. We will be smarter by the summer at the latest when the long-awaited film comes out: “Deadpool and Wolverine“ will be released in German cinemas on July 24, 2024.
