MCU star wants to play another character at Marvel in the future: “A bigger, deeper role”!

In an interview, yes Dave Bautista has now reconfirmed that he will no longer be playing Drax in the MCU. At the end of “Guardians Of The Galaxy 3” we saw that the character remains behind on Knowhere with Nebula (Karen Gillan) to care for the many children freed from the clutches of The High Evolutionary. Meanwhile, the new Guardians are led by Rocket.

This could still allow Drax to return in a future film, but that won’t happen. However, we could see Dave Bautista in another MCU role. If the actor himself gets his way, that will actually happen.

In conversation with Bautista now made it clear that he was only done with Drax and his story: “I still have a relationship with Marvel.” He met Kevin Feige again and even spoke with Louis D’Espito, the second strong man behind Feige at Marvel, two weeks ago: “They know I am ready for a new role. I love the universe. I’m a fan.”

If the role makes sense, it is ready immediately. However, he has clear ideas and does not want to play the strange sidekick again: “I just want to have the opportunity to play a bigger role, a different role. Maybe a deeper role. I would love the opportunity to embody something like a menacing villain in the superhero universe.”

According to Bautista, the same applies to a possible DC engagement. If the role offered him these opportunities, he would be immediately interested.

Next we see Dave Bautista in “Dune 2”. In the sci-fi sequel, which starts on February 29, 2024, he can be seen again as Rabban Harkonnen, who must ensure that the spice on Arrakis is reliably extracted on behalf of his uncle Vladimir (Stellan Skarsgård). The resistance of the local Fremen is a thorn in his side, especially since they are led by a mysterious new warrior.
