The “LOL: Last One Laughing” format has proven to be a mega hit for Amazon Prime Video, so it’s no wonder the comedy show is far from over. It has been known for a while that the fifth season of ‘LOL’ will start at Easter, but now the exact date is finally known.
As FILMSTARTS editor Markus Trutt can tell us live from the Amazon event “Prime Video Presents”, March 28, 2024 was just announced as the start date for “LOL” season 5. So it starts on the Thursday before Easter, but that’s not the only big announcement made during the event.
There will be a ‘Halloween’ special – as a horror spin-off?
Because Michael “Bully” Herbig has personally announced even more “LOL” stock for 2024. A “LOL” Halloween special is planned. After a successful Christmas special from the comedy series last year, this 2024 will at least have something to laugh about (or say nothing) at the end of October. Whether there will be another Christmas special remains to be seen.
We’re excited to see what the Bully team has in store for us for the special Halloween episodes. Fitting the subject, it’s guaranteed to be a bit creepy – and maybe that’s what it’s about Horror spin-off of “LOL”which was announced a year ago? The goal of the participants is to not only stop laughing, but also stop screaming/being afraid. Details about the announced “Halloween” special have yet to be seen.

What we already know, however, is which celebrities will enter the studio in season 5 of ‘LOL: Last One Laughing’ and have to fear Bully’s buzzer.
