The television adaptation of the fantasy novels about Harry Potter will arrive on the streaming platform Max in 2026, the CEO of Warner Bros. reported. Discovery David Zaslav.
At the results conference fourth trimester company, Zaslav informed American media that he recently met with the HBO and Max content team in England, as well as the author of the original story, JK Rowling, to discuss the series.
“Both parties are delighted with the re-establishment March this franchise. “Our conversations have been excellent and we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead,” noted the CEO.
In April 2023, media conglomerate and Entertainment announced that the series was planned to run for a decade and that each season would be based on a Rowling book.
At the time, they also detailed that it was production will have a new cast to replace actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who have given life to the iconic main characters since 2001 in the film adaptation of the saga.
For now there is none actors selected to give life to the characters and it is not known who will direct the project.
In recent years, Rowling has been in eye hurricane due to various statements that are considered ‘anti-trans’ and which caused displeasure among various followers of the franchise.
Some even threatened boycott of the Warner Bros. series in which the writer will be an executive producer.
