“That will never happen”: “The Mandalorian” actor completely rules out major fan requests for the “Star Wars” series

Some fans’ wishes are coming true: anyone who dreamed of seeing the father-son team Din Djarin and Grogu in action not only on the small screen of Disney+, but also on the big screen, can now look forward to the theatrical film “ The Mandalorian & Grogu’ by Jon Favreau. But a special wish many ‘The Mandalorian’ fans have for the title hero may never come true, Brendan Wayne has now revealed.

Brendan Wayne is one of three actors working together to bring the helmeted Star Wars character to life. He and Lateef Crowder alternate performing in the costume that Pedro Pascal, the group’s third member, rarely wears, but is instead the face and voice of Din Djarin. Wayne revealed in now that Mando will never have a romantic relationship.

Brendan Wayne wanted Bo-Mando romance

For example, many fans wished that Din Djarin with Bo-Katan Kryze (Kate Sackhoff) connected, even claimed to have felt certain vibrations between the stoic warrior and the fearless leader. Others wished that the Mandalorian and Cobb Vanth (Timothy Elephant) a love affair would begin. Pedro Pascal even shared an accompanying fan drawing in an Instagram story, which immediately fueled speculation.

Even Brendan Wayne himself wanted a romance for his character, namely with Bo-Katan – but his suggestion was not listened to: “I pushed for a Bo Mando love story, but that will never happen. But I tried.”

In the Podcast (through ) Wayne also came forward Din Djarin’s relationship with Omera (Julia Jones) in season 1 to speak, where it became clear for the first time that the warrior might also feel the desire for a romantic connection. Omera, who was clearly fond of him, then wanted to take off Din Djarin’s helmet – but of course that would have changed everything: “If he had taken his helmet off, he would have stayed,” says Wayne.

The emphasis is on the father-son relationship

Instead of a romantic relationship, the series focuses entirely on the bond between Mando and his adopted son Din Grogu. And who knows – maybe a character will appear in the future that will change that. But of course you don’t always need romance, even though many fans would like that – of course, a story can work completely without it, and that has been happening for three seasons now with ‘The Mandalorian’.

Whether we will see the fourth season after this, which is still a question mark, or only then A reunion with ‘The Mandalorian’ in theaters in 2026 will celebrate remains to be seen.
