Are Panamanians in love with their jobs?

For some, work is a pleasure, because they are doing what they love. However, others do so only because they have to cover their basic needs, and for that they need money.

Do people in Panama love their jobs? According to the latest study by Ejob lovers 2024only 2 out of 10 Panamanians (21%) are in love with their job.

Namely, in other countries in the region, this trend did not exceed 30%: u Ecuador 29% say they are in love with their job; in Peru 26% have the same feeling; in Chile 19%; and in Argentina 16%.

In any case, the love of work in Panama has increased by 3 percentage points compared to 2023, where 18% of talents say they are in love with their work, according to this study conducted by Concert.

However, even if they are not in love with their job, 49% of people are workers andn Panama said they like their work.

In contrast, 16% said they did not like their job; 11% said they didn’t care; and 2% hate it.

“The study allows us to find out in a more assertive way the assessment that people have about their work and those aspects that do not allow them to generate commitment to the work they do,” comments Jeff Morales, head of marketing at Konzerta.

“The results also show that the vast majority (78%) would continue to work, even if they do not have an economic need for it. Job dissatisfaction, therefore, does not stem from the idea of work, but from the characteristics of their current job. In this case, the place where they work is the main is the reason for the negative assessment of Panamanians with 36 percent, followed by salary with 35 percent,” he adds.

In Love with Work is a Konzert survey of 4,932 workers from the region: 452 from Panama, 1,129 from Argentina, 1,450 from Chile, 904 from Ecuador and 997 from Peru. The study investigates the assessment that people have about their work.
