This current mega hit was in the Netflix top 10 of all time after just 35 (!) days!

Just in time for the New Year on January 1, 2024, the crime series ‘In Eternal Guilt’ arrived on Netflix and set a brilliant record in its first week. The series based on Harlan Coben’s bestseller started at number 1 on the charts in numerous countries and was viewed almost 37.1 million times in just one week. This means it holds the record for the most successful series launch to occur on the streaming service since the change in numerical measurements in June 2023, and likely the most successful series launch since the horror hit “Wednesday.”

After this remarkable achievement, one could already assume that the series would sooner or later end up in the top 10 of all time of English-language series. This case has now occurred – and after only 35 days! A total of 84.9 million views have been calculated for ‘In Eternal Debt’ to date, catapulting the crime series to ninth place among the most popular English-language series on Netflix.

‘In Eternal Debt’ replaces the first season of the fantasy hit ‘The Witcher’, which had 83 million views in its crucial first 91 days and now sits at number 10 on the list. ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’ was previously in tenth place and therefore has to say goodbye to the top 10 of all time. The list is still topped by “Wednesday,” which racked up 252.1 million views in its first 91 days on the streaming service.

“Leave The World Behind” and “Berlin” climb with us

The spin-off of ‘Money Heist’Berlin” also climbed to number 9 last week in the top 10 foreign-language series of all time with 51.9 million views – and within 38 days. Sam Esmail’s apocalyptic thriller ‘Leave The World Behind’ with Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke fought its way to sixth place in the all-time English film charts last week with 137.7 million views.

The weekly charts in both Germany and the US are currently still led by the true crime series “Griselda”, which has comfortably placed itself at the top of the podium for the second week in a row with 20.6 million views. The series with ‘Modern Family’ star Sofia Vergara can be found in the current series top 10 in 90 countries.
