A mysterious countdown on AC/DC’s official website has fueled speculation about a tour by the legendary rock band (“Highway To Hell,” “Thunderstruck”).
On Tuesday, AC/DC had already published a short clip about playing DC songs. The next day, a second clip showing the number 5 appeared. At the same time, a countdown is running on the hard rock veterans website, ending next Monday at 9am CET.

There have been persistent rumors for some time that AC/DC will soon announce a world tour. Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter announced at a council meeting in November that the Australians would perform at the Munich Olympic Stadium in June 2024. “It may be that I revealed something, I didn’t know it was so secret,” Reiter said at the time when Bayerischer Rundfunk asked him about it. “I think AC/DC will fill the Olympic Stadium there.”
AC/DC returned to the stage at the ‘Powertrip’ festival in California last October after a seven-year hiatus. It was also the live comeback of singer Brian Johnson, who left the band in 2016 due to hearing problems during a tour and was temporarily replaced by Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose. In 2020, AC/DC announced its return and released the album “Power Up”.
Tour plans were initially suspended at the time due to the corona pandemic. In an interview with the German news agency, Johnson expressed hope that this would one day happen. “We would really like to give concerts again,” he says. “I hope so.” (rbu/sda/dpa)
