New year, new adventure. Like every year, you ask yourself: Where should we go in the next twelve months? Blick has a tip that might help you. For example, how about a relaxing holiday in the Caribbean? I flew there recently.
All-inclusive, all-round service and best of all: summer temperatures no matter what time of year. And these days, when the magic of winter is slowly disappearing and there is still very little time left for spring, we want to go directly to the sun. All Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy offers hotels and all-inclusive resorts around the world. So which is the best hotel for your next holiday? I visited two hotels in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and did the comparison.
Signature Collection at Royalton Bavaro, All Inclusive Resort & Casino
If you like action and entertainment, Royalton Bavara is the right place for you. Here you will find not only several pools, a large children’s paradise and a large spa area, but also a balanced mix of cuisine. And whether on the beach, by the pool or in the jacuzzi – you’ve come to the right place with little kids.
The hotel has rooms of different sizes. From a double room to a luxury suite or even your own apartment, you can find something to suit every family. It is also worth mentioning the various programs the hotel offers. You can easily create your own program, from day trips to boat tours and other water activities.
My highlights: I especially enjoyed taking many laps on the lazy river, which is a kind of channel that runs around the outside of the hotel and where you can easily drift along.
My advice is: I recommend Royalton Bavara to anyone who enjoys being completely pampered and also wants to offer their children a nice place to de-stress. The hotel complex offers a variety of children’s pools and activities for young and old. And of course there’s direct access to the beach, so you don’t miss out on the swimming fun. But if you prefer some peace and quiet, you will definitely find that the second option is a better place.
Sanctuary Cap Cana, Luxury All-Inclusive Resort Collection
For anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet and, above all, child-free holiday, a visit to Sanctuary Cap Cana is worthwhile. Only adults are allowed into the hotel.
Sanctuary offers a small village with a variety of restaurants and boutiques, as well as a large spa area. Although I must honestly admit that I was happy to give up the steam shower at 33 degrees Celsius, I was told it was great.
Although the noise in the main pool gets a little louder in the afternoons, there are many other pools in the complex where you can relax.
My highlights: I’ve rarely praised a cocktail in a travel report, but I’m still dreaming of the welcome drink, some sort of coconut lemonade, and I’ve already mixed it at home. By the way, it is not only available upon arrival, but can also be reordered at any time.
My advice is: Both resorts impress with their beautiful facilities and wide selection of restaurants. But I must admit that a hotel without children provides a little more relaxation and peace by the pool. So my personal opinion goes to Sanctuary Cap Cana.
