An actually very funny message gives new fuel to this discussion. “The White Lotus” star Tom Hollander told inside now “Late Night with Seth Meyers” that he accidentally got the receipt for a Marvel bonus Tom Holland has been delivered:
“The people in my agency’s client department were confused. We were with the same officers for a short time. And that was a terrible moment […] I was visiting my friend who did theater in England. I sat smugly in the audience, having just done a BBC show for $30,000. The break came and I checked my email and got one from the desk that said: Receipt for the first box office bonus for ‘The Avengers’.“
An amount of millions as a bonus payment
Of course, Tom Hollander had never been in an “Avengers” movie, but his almost-namesake Tom Holland had. Struck by a certain curiosity, the mime artist opened the email and the amount written there almost made his eyes pop out of his head in amazement:
“It was an astonishing amount. It wasn’t his salary. It was his first box office award. Not the entire box office bonus, but the first one. And it was more money than I ever had [gesehen] had. It was a seven-figure sum.”
