Dear community, Strange question, especially in times of body positivity here and uninterrupted body cult there. The thing is, I’ve been steadily gaining weight for three years. Together with a trauma therapist I am working on the story behind it.
While the psychological scars are healing, I still suffer from my appearance (77 kg by 1.65 m) and although I have a beautiful face and nice, full breasts, I don’t have the courage to approach men because I I always think to myself: If those who first took off my sweater can at best tolerate what they see or somehow ignore it, but they cannot possibly approve of it.
I know, I think just as superficially as many unfortunately do and now I probably get tips like ‘You must first love/accept/find yourself beautiful’ or ‘it is the inner values that count’ or ‘lose weight until you like it’ yourself again, and then: “You radiate that too.”
I am losing weight, but it takes time. And I think I’m beautiful, but more on the inside than on the outside.
Question specifically for men: Are there any of you who consider a stomach somewhere between round and round to be not only tolerable, but completely okay if they really like the woman it belongs to and she is otherwise relatively beautiful? Or are you still a little bothered by that?
I know my question isn’t exactly confident, but that’s exactly why I’m asking it: I wonder if I’m thinking about it too much. Thank you.
