Is the Marvel series “Agents Of SHIELD” actually (still) part of the MCU or not? Opinions differ somewhat on this. Originally launched as the MCU’s first series extension with direct ties to the films, “AoS” increasingly emancipated itself from the bigger picture over its seven seasons (not to mention that the films have always completely ignored the series ).
In seasons 6 and 7, the MCU continuity was finally abandoned and the drastic events of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame” were completely omitted. This mainly had logistical reasons, but can also be explained substantively based on the time travel in the last “Agents Of SHIELD” seasons, which may have opened a new timeline. In line with this, MCU mastermind Kevin Feige has now announced that basically all Marvel titles are part of the grand MCU multiverse canon and therefore could be picked up again at some point (see, for example, Spidey’s guest appearances in “Spider-Man : No way home”).
But enough about the long preface: If you take these criteria as a basis and still put “Agents Of SHIELD into the (expanded) MCU, it now gives us the latest Marvel series”echo“ the latest MCU double cast…
Thomas E. Sullivan becomes a Marvel villain for the second time
In the past, there have always been actors who, after a first role in the MCU, were later cast for a second role. For example, Gemma Chan, who played the Kree soldier Minn-Erva in ‘Captain Marvel’ and two years later as Sersi was part of the mighty ‘Eternals’. Or Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, who took on the title character from “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings” for a while after a cameo as Ravager Aleta Ogord in “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2”.
With “Echo” things are now a bit reversed, was the actor’s first Marvel role Thomas E. Sullivan but slightly larger than his second:

He was Nathaniel Malick, brother of leading HYDRA member Gideon Malick (also known from “The Avengers”).Powers Boothe), one of the main villains in the final “Agents Of SHIELD” season. However, in ‘Echo’ he now plays Vickie Tyson, the flatulent employee at Henry’s skating rink who betrays Maya (Alaqua Cox) to Fisk’s people. Once again, Sullivan plays an antagonist, albeit in a shorter but not unimportant performance.
