Authorities arrested a man outside Shakira’s Miami Beach home on Monday accused of harassing the Colombian singer via social media and sending her gifts.
Daniel John Valtier, 56, faces harassment charges for posting about the singer on social media and delivering chocolates and bottles of wine made to her home between late December and early 2024, according to a police report.
In Valtier’s posts, he falsely claimed to be in a relationship with Shakira, including that the two were married and had a family, according to court documents.
Although police reports do not identify Shakira, local media report that it is the singer.
Valtier is from Texas but traveled to Florida with the intention of visiting Shakira’s home, the Colombian woman’s team that reported the incident told police.
On Monday, when Valtier arrived at Shakira’s house, he was arrested by Miami Beach police.
