“Out of the Pond” has been a truly surprising success and has become a long-running hit at the German box office. The animated adventure from the ‘Minions’ creators opened in local cinemas on December 21, 2023 and has been increasing week by week. The crazy fun started in third place with 146,000 tickets sold. We then jumped to second place with 296,000 cards solved. This week, the feathered gang managed to take pole position – and attract even more moviegoers to the cinemas: 305,000 duck fans wanted to see the adventures of the beaked family.
But even those who do not have a cinema nearby or prefer to watch films in their own home will soon be able to enjoy the animation spectacle. As now announced, “Out of the Pond” will be available digitally as video-on-demand from online providers such as Amazon beginning February 22, 2024 – almost exactly two months after its theatrical release.

If you want to put the strip on your shelf, you’ll have to wait a few more days: The film will also be available on DVD and Blu-ray from March 7. While the film isn’t currently on VoD, you can pre-order the physical versions now.
That’s what ‘From the Pond’ is about
Haven’t heard about “Out of the Pond” yet? Then at this point we will briefly tell you what the animal adventure is about:
Ducks want to go on holiday too! But sometimes the worries and fears of the parents – in this case those of the overprotective father Mack (voice in the original: Kumail Nanjiani / German voice: Elyas M’Barek) – get in the way of a nice trip and a relaxing holiday . Because the rest of the family needs some variety, the head bird eventually has to admit defeat.
But the duck father’s concerns were not unfounded and the family soon encounters all kinds of obstacles. Bad weather and unfriendly bird species make life difficult for them. Can we overcome the problems together?

The entertaining animation was also well received by the editors. In the official FILMSTARTS review, author Sidney Schering gives it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. He describes ‘Out of the Pond’ as a beautiful, entertaining pleasure to watch – even if there is some fiddling here…
If you don’t want to wait until the home theater release, you can still enjoy the film in theaters right now. The current chart leader will certainly flash across the screens for a few more weeks.
