Almost 50 (!) years after ‘Jaws’: Cultster takes on an underwater killer again

‘Jaws’ is an absolute cinema cult, which to this day is still rightly regarded as the flagship of the animal horror genre. Furthermore, the film broke the box office when it was released in 1975, becoming the most successful film in history to date. In addition to John Williams’ goosebump score and Steven Spielberg’s directing skills, the excellent cast certainly also ensured the stunning success at the box office.

In particular, the charismatic trio Roy Scheider (as Martin Brody), Robert Shaw (Quint) and Richard Dreyfuss (Matt Hooper), who set out as an unequal community of fate to put an end to the killer shark, are has become a real cult. figures from which the sayings originate are still quoted today by fans of the Spielberg classic.

Now, almost 50 (!) years after the release of ‘Jaws’, Richard Dreyfuss must once again battle a man-eating shark: In the upcoming survival horror film ‘Into The Deep’, the actor will once again battle the creatures that made his life hell on screen in 1975.

And that’s “Into The Deep”

‘Into The Deep’ is about a group of divers who search for sunken treasure. During their dive they witness a gruesome murder by modern pirates. But escaping these dangerous guys isn’t their only problem, as a murderous great white shark prevents their escape.

Richard Dreyfuss will star in the film alongside Scout Taylor-Compton (“Halloween”) and Stuart Townsend (“The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”). Christian Sesma (“Take Back”) is responsible for directing the survival thriller based on a script by Chad Law (“The Getback”) and Josh Ridgway (“Section 8”). Hollywood icon Dreyfuss will play a character named Seamus. No further information about the role is known.

“Into The Deep” currently has no release date. It is therefore not yet known when and how we will be able to see Richard Dreyfuss in a confrontation with a great white shark again in Germany.

If you want to shorten the wait time until the movie, you can watch the Steven Spielberg horror film ‘Jaws’ again….
