Thanks to his performances as Marvel hero Wolverine, Hugh Jackman (“The Greatest Showman”) is one of the biggest and most popular actors in the dream factory. There are certainly plenty of movie buffs who only dream of meeting the Australian actor in real life. It goes without saying that things look a little different for established Hollywood stars. The first meeting with Clint Eastwood (“Million Dollar Baby”) was anything but pleasant for Jackman.
In an interview with (through ) in 2009, Hugh Jackman explained that over the years he had been repeatedly said to bear a certain physical resemblance to Clint Eastwood. Jackman wanted to use this to have a chat with the legend of the Two Glorious Scoundrels. But she seemed more than uninterested:
Jackman was turned bright red by Eastwood!
“I was at a Warner Bros event. All the stars were backstage. In front of me is Sylvester Stallone and behind me is Clint Eastwood. I turned around and introduced myself, ‘Hello, Mr. Eastwood, Hugh Jackman.'” Eastwood replied, “Yes, I know.” Jackman then revealed, “I know we have to go, but I’ve been told I look like you sometimes in my movies.” Eastwood was apparently not at all impressed, as he simply replied, “You’re holding the line.”
As Hugh Jackman in an interview with explained, before coming onto the stage with a bright red face. It is unknown whether the two stars met again afterward. In any case, this first and perhaps only encounter so far was quite unpleasant for Jackman. It is doubtful whether there will be a collaboration between Eastwood and Jackman, as the legal thriller “Juror #2” would be the 93-year-old’s last film.
