The free book fair Book Sharing will be held on January 20 at the Novotel, its third edition, where you can find school texts, novels and diverse genres.
This edition sets a record compared to the previous two versions, there will be more than 800 free books. In 2022, the event had more than 200 titles, and in 2023 there were more than 500.
Yovanka Ramírez, director of Share Books (website for sales, buying and exchanging books), he reiterated that the idea of the event is for books to remain in constant circulation, i.e. to take the title home, read it and then give it away or sell it.
Attendees will be able to take a maximum of three free books, but special benefits are available to those who have a membership (basic or premium) in Share Books (https://compartirlibros.com/) or have purchased a book collection service.
Those with a basic membership can download up to seven books, and those with a premium membership can download up to 10. In addition, they will have access to coffee breaks and other perks during their membership year.
On the other hand, Ramírez announced that he will not accept book donations on the day of the fair, this process is carried out before the event, it is a time-consuming process, in which you have to organize and classify.
On the day of the fair, books will be arranged on the tables by genres and languages, since there are titles in both Spanish and English. In this way, people can reach the category they are interested in.’
Share Books is a place to meet and connect people to sell, buy or donate books, new or used.
The platform allows books to complete their life cycle and encourages donations.
Share Books was launched on January 9, 2020 and currently has more than 2 thousand books in its catalog.
Likewise, the fair is growing with the intention of becoming more than a space to find new free reading, For the first time, entrepreneurs with ecological products are also joining.
Ramírez announced that the plan is to host a writer and other activities around the fair.
Schedule
The fair will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
