Next Friday, Puerto Rican reggaeton player Yandel will launch the Ewing x Yandel Rogue, the company’s first sneaker to include a Spanish-language brochure, alongside the Ewing Athletics brand — owned by basketball legend Patrick Ewing.
“I am a huge sneaker fan and collector and a huge fan of NY Knicks legend and NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing,” Yandel said in a press release.
“Now I can have my own shoe in collaboration with one of the stars the brightest of The world of sports. It’s amazing to start the new year with a presentation Ewing x Yandel Roguesince the shoe will also celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024,” he pointed out.
For his part, Ewing pointed out: “For the first time in the history of our brand, we collaborated with Latin artistso it’s only right that we collaborate with a legend.”
The Ewing x Yandel Rogue comes in a special box containing a comic in English and Spanish printed on the inside that tells the story of shoeclarifies the press release.
This collaboration between the stars marks the first time that an Ewing sneaker model has included a Spanish-language brochure.
Paper towels inside the box represent Flag of Puerto Rico.
As for the design, the sneakers have an upper made of leather and ‘nubuck’ leather (tanned cowhide, s velvety appearance) in gray and white with blue details, while the white part of the shoe is fully reflective and the blue sole glows in the dark, giving the shoes a unique touch.
Shoes will be on sale from Friday at 10:00 (14:00 GMT) on ewingathletics.com and yandel.com.
