The rumors are true! Last month, there were rumors that Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka had ended their relationship, but it was the latter who confirmed the breakup.
Carey and Tanaka, a dancer and creative director, were in a relationship for seven years and mutually decided to separate to go their separate ways.
Tanaka, with found emotionsshared an update of his relationship with the singer and described it as a “friendly breakup”.
“Our decision to go our separate ways is mutual, and as we go our separate ways, we do so with deep respect and a tremendous sense of gratitude for the priceless time we shared,” the dancer wrote.
He then added, “The memories we created and artistic collaborations are forever etched in my heart.”
Rumors of the couple’s split surfaced when fans noticed that the dancer did not join Carey’s “Merry Christmas One and All” tour.
The former couple met in 2006, when the dancer joined Carey’s “The Adventures of Mimi” tour as a backup dancer, and then in 2017, the singer confirmed the relationship.
Carey has not commented on the divorce at this time.
