TV cult format saved from extinction: #SchleFaZ continues – from 2024 on a new channel

This should please not only Oliver Kalkofe and Peter Rütten, but also many film fans. Because bad movies are also good movies – right? At least if they are presented and commented on as lovingly as in the cult TV series “The Worst Films of All Time” or “SchleFaZ”. The format was shown on Tele5 for eleven years, but in September 2023 it was announced that the channel would discontinue ‘SchleFaZ’. But even though it is time to say goodbye here: it is now 2024 further, but on a new channel!

In a press release it was announced that NITRO and RTL+ have picked up “SchleFaZ”. So that’s where the trash film fun continues, where presenters Oliver Kalkofe and Peter Rütten watch the worst films of all time with costumes, decorations and matching cocktails. However, the exact broadcast dates will not be announced until 2024. The new season is expected to be released in the fall.

“SchleFaZ” on NITRO and RTL+: a “Christmas miracle”

Oliver Kalkofe and Peter Rütten had already made it clear that a new home was being sought for “SchleFaZ” when they announced the cancellation of Tele-5: “Despite everything, the beautiful battleship #SchleFaZ will not sink, but will look for a new home port […]Tele 5 has said goodbye to the series that has become dear to many film fans over the years, because in the future they will focus even more on “purely fictional film and series content and sci-fi”. .

Kalkofe and Rütten were of course delighted with the rescue, according to the official press release. Kalkofe celebrates the supporters of “SchleFaZ” as “the best and most loyal fans in the world”. With NITRO and RTL+ they have now found the ideal partner for the ‘creative ideas’ of the presenter duo.

And Peter Rütten sums it up in typical SchleFaZ commentary: “Fucking hell – yes, it goes!” He is incredibly grateful that fans can get a real and unexpected Christmas miracle “just in time for the holidays.”
