Now Snyder is developing his own universe. He’s been tweaking this idea for 20 years, he told IMDb. He originally wanted “Rebel Moon” to be integrated into the “Star Wars” saga. But when Disney bought Lucasfilm, this was an impossibility and he toyed with the idea of ​​inventing a new universe.

According to Netflix’s official description, “Rebel Moon” is the story of a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that is threatened by the forces of a dictatorial ruler named Balisarius. A young woman previously stranded on this planet is then tasked with assembling a team of warriors from neighboring planets to aid the farmers in the battle.

When it comes to the cast, Zack Snyder relies on many familiar faces – including Sir Anthony Hopkins, who has “only” a speaking role.
