Matthew Perry died as a result of ketamine

Actor Matthew Perry, who was found dead in his pool in Los Angeles (United States) on October 28, died “accidentally” after consuming ketamine, an autopsy revealed this Friday.

“The cause of the actor’s death Matthew Langford Perry54, were acute effects of ketamine,” the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department said.

The translator was known for playing Chandler in the legendary series “Friends”.

Perry gained popularity thanks to ‘Friends’, a series about a group of six friends also starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, which ran for ten seasons between 1994 and 2004.

He also acted in films such as ‘The Whole Nine Yards’in which he shared the screen with Bruce Willis.

As the actor himself admitted in his book ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’ (2022), while he was part of the cast of ‘Friends’ he suffered from several episodes of drug and alcohol addiction.

His death came as a shock to fans of the show, but also to his co-stars, who shared emotional farewell tributes.

This same week, in an interview with Variety, Aniston mentioned her friend: “He was happy. He was healthy. He quit smoking.”

He added: “He was coming. He was happy, that’s all I know.”
