The podcast “Gemischtes Hack” has been around since 2017. Once a week, Tommi Schmitt and Felix Lobrecht talk in nearly 200 episodes on topics ranging from office basics to sunburn, regularly landing at number one in the Spotify charts. podcast charts. There is usually a lot of laughter about the comedy duo’s episodes. But now the podcasters are conversing on a topic that is driving them both crazy.
Felix Lobrecht spends a lot of time on the road as a comedian. The Berliner is currently on a major “all you can eat” tour and is therefore staying in hotels all over Germany.
The 33-year-old does not seem to mind that he does not sleep in his own bed every night. Nevertheless, Felix Lobrecht has something to complain about during his hotel stays. As the podcast shows, the comedian attaches great importance to good coffee in the morning. However, he is not at all happy with the version of the drink served at the stand-up in hotels.
Felix Lobrecht can easily identify where this antipathy comes from. “Coffee machines, these large industrial machines” are “very suspicious” to him, as he tells in the current episode of “Gemischtes Hack”.

The resident of the capital is not alone with this opinion. Tommi Schmitt sees it exactly that way and immediately agrees with his colleague. “I always think that at such expensive hotels: save yourself that guy who somehow throws you an omelet on the stone,” the talk show host gets angry. He would much rather have “a barista who makes really good coffee” in the hotel. Because Tommi Schmitt knows exactly where else the hot drink comes from in the morning: “No matter how expensive a hotel is, no matter how good, they eventually push this WMF button.”
The duo is now talking really furiously to themselves. Even in Felix Lobrecht’s regular hotel in Cologne, he misses good coffee and even gets into an argument with the boss. “Please buy a portafilter,” the Berliner confronted the manager. And further: «What should I do? Do you want me to buy it and you take care of it?”
That is precisely why Tommi Schmitt prefers to drink his coffee in his room. Then it is “capsule coffee”, but he still prefers it to the drink from the large vending machines.
