Undisputedly one of the best thrillers of all time: this serial killer masterpiece still shocks today – coming soon for the first time in 4K!

For us at FILMSTARTS “Seven” is one of the best serial killer films of all time (in our final ranking it finished in 4th place), for our community David Fincher’s masterpiece is even the third best thriller of all time – and from the best lists all time from approx (Rank 19) or (Rank 103), the sinful killing hunt has long become indispensable. However, you can quickly cross the film off your list of films you want in 4K.

Because ‘Seven’ appears on 4K Blu-ray for the first time – in an edition that does justice to the modern cult classic. Because Warner Bros. gives the Ultra HD premiere of one of his great masterpieces not only a commercially available standard version, but an Ultimate Collector’s Edition that will make fans’ hearts beat faster:

The collector’s edition, which you can get your hands on now at Amazon, not only contains the film for the first time as 4K Blu-ray and also on Blu-ray, but also has the two discs in a steelbook – which again contains a lot Encores are supplied in a stylish box.

Also on board are a 38-page booklet, a double-sided poster and plenty of trading cards. The heart of the edition is of course the film itself – which you will probably get in the best quality ever. However, it is not yet known when the premiere of ‘Seven’ will be in 4K. At least there’s already a packshot revealing the collected contents:

“Seven”: THE thriller of the 90s

Only a week remains before Detective Summerset (Morgan Freeman) finally wants to retire and make way for his successor: the young and ambitious Detective Mills (Brad Pitt). He has just moved to town with his wife Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow) and is assigned to investigate his first case on his first day.

The first victim: a 400-pound man who was fattened to death – and turns out to be just the beginning of a series of murders all about the seven deadly sins: greed, pride, envy, anger, lust, laziness and excess.

With an excellent cast of actors, an atmospheric, dark production and a series of stomach-churning atrocities (thankfully there is no scent television yet), ‘Seven’ burned itself into the collective memory of an entire generation – some even stand to this day seeing something that isn’t even there. ‘Fight Club’ creator David Fincher staged his killer hunt so brilliantly and terrifyingly. Naturally, the FILMSTARTS review gave it the full five stars.

But above all, ‘Seven’ will be remembered for its heartbreaking finale – one of the most intense, shocking and difficult to stomach endings to hit cinema audiences in the 1990s. And even in the 2020s, it’s still pretty tough.
