“Like a sober LSD trip”: this is what Charlie Sheen thought about his surprising series reunion with the creator of “Two And A Half Men”

After Charlie Sheen was fired from the popular sitcom ‘Two And A Half Men’ in 2011 after eight successful seasons, the domestic victory between actor and series maker Chuck Lorre remained unsettled for a long time. There were public accusations about Sheen’s drug use and abuse on set, with the actor describing his colleague as an “infected little maggot”, among other things. No one thought that after twelve years these two would come together again for a common purpose.

But Lorre recently explained that when he was considering playing the role of a sports betting-obsessed celebrity, he had none other than Sheen in mind for his new comedy series “Bookie,” calling yesterday’s battle ax with the actor “Snow.” . Now, Charlie Sheen is also commenting on the surprise reunion, which the former “Two And A Half Men” star probably still can’t quite believe.

Charlie Sheen couldn’t believe his own luck

Charlie Sheen compared his work to Lorre in ‘Bookie’ in an interview with a surreal experience: “It’s one of those things that’s so surreal that I hear Al Michaels’ famous hockey cry, ‘Do you believe in miracles!?’ It’s a journey. When I won the Golden Globe for ‘Chaos City’ – and the last thing I expected was to be on that stage – I said, ‘This feels like a sober acid trip.’ And I think this quote really captures what that experience feels like right now.

In the interview, the actor also spoke about Chuck Lorre’s fateful message in which the series creator raised the white flag: “Chuck reached out and said, ‘Hey, it’s time to bury the hatchet. It’s time to hug each other. And think back to all the wonderful things we did together.’ We made a lot of people happy for a long time and we left some really solid work behind… We were both just glowing. Blasted.”

Sheen even fell out of favor in Hollywood after being fired from Two And A Half Men, but managed to retain some fans with the self-referential comedy series Anger Management, which lasted two seasons and 100 episodes until 2014 episodes aired. Then the actor became silent, but he now tasted blood and made a loud noise could also imagine more roles in TV and film. It remains to be seen if Chuck Lorre will contact him again.

“Bookie” premiered on November 30, 2023 on the HBO Max streaming service. It is not yet known when and where the series will be shown in this country.
