New rape case: Sean “Diddy” Combs denies allegations

American rapper and producer Sean Combs (54) is again facing a civil lawsuit for rape and abuse. An unnamed woman filed the lawsuit in a New York court on Wednesday (local time). In it, she accuses Combs and two other men of rape in the rapper’s studio in New York. She was given alcohol and drugs. At that time, in 2003, she was only 17 years old.

Combs firmly denied the allegations in a statement. “Enough is enough,” the rapper wrote in a statement available to the German news agency. In recent weeks, “disgusting accusations” have been made with the aim of raising money. These people tried to destroy his reputation. He wanted to make it “absolutely clear” that he had not done any of these “terrible things.” “I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth,” the message continued.

Three women had previously filed civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault against Combs, including his ex-girlfriend, the singer Cassie. Combs quickly reached a settlement with Cassie in mid-November. During their many years of relationship, the plaintiff had accused the musician of sexual abuse, rape, intimidation and physical violence, among other things. Details of the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Combs (“Bad Boy for Life”, “I’ll Be Missing You”), who also works as a record producer, actor and businessman, is one of the most successful representatives of the hip-hop industry. At the MTV Video Music Awards in September, Combs was honored with the Global Icon Award as a pioneer and for his influential career. (sda/dpa)
