Many ‘Game Of Thrones’ stars have you wondering what they’ve been doing since their involvement with the hit series ended. For example, Joffrey actor Jack Gleeson was silent for a long time; he had consciously withdrawn from the spotlight. But now the Irishman is dedicating himself more to acting again, for example he was in the fourth season of ‘Sex Education’ and has roles in the ‘Five Friends’ adaptation by Nicolas Winding Refn and the thriller ‘In The Land Of Saints And Sinners’ taken from Liam Neeson’s page.
Now Jack Gleeson is tackling his next project – and celebrating a ‘Game Of Thrones’ reunion with Theon Greyjoy actor Alfie Allen. The two have signed for leading roles in the Dutch-Belgian streaming series ‘Safe Harbor’. The eight-part thriller series was created by Mark Williams, co-creator of the Netflix hit ‘Ozark’.

“Safe Harbor” is about the talented hacker Tobias (Alfie Allen), who, together with his best friend Marco (Martijn Lakemeier), wants to gain access to the tech billionaires club. But they don’t stay hidden for long and soon find themselves at the center of organized crime when the Irish mafia spots them.
Their company in the Netherlands is run by Sloane (Charlie Murphy) and her brother Farrell (Jack Gleeson). The two secure the services of Tobias and Marco so that they can hack into the security system of the port of Rotterdam, the largest cargo port in Europe, to allow drugs to be smuggled there unnoticed…
“Safe Harbor”: Dark gangster story
Jack Gleeson as an Irish drug-dealing gangster? No, it doesn’t look like the Joffrey actor will play a nice role this time – so he won’t be able to get rid of the villain image for a while. In any case, Gleeson can claim that he played the villain from ‘Game Of Thrones’ so iconically that a survey voted him the most hated series character of all time. So it’s no wonder that Gleeson’s latest serial job shows him his bad side again.
How continues to report on ‘Safe Harbor,’ but casting for the thriller series isn’t over yet. A big-name star is slated to play the mafia patriarch, whose children are Sloane and Farrell. The project could soon become even more interesting… Which streaming service will secure the series for the German market remains to be seen, but the plan is to release “Safe Harbor” internationally. The start is expected at the end of 2024.
