“Squid Game: The Challenge”: When will the remaining episodes be released on Netflix?

When “Squid Game” hit Netflix in 2021, no one expected the waves the series would make. Not only did the South Korean format become an absolute mega hit for the streaming service with the big red N (no other series was more successful there). “Squid Game” also became a phenomenon and is now an integral part of contemporary pop culture.

But it will probably be a while before season 2 comes out. To shorten the waiting time a bit, “Squid Game: The Challenge” recently started on Netflix. This is a spin-off of a game show in which the candidates participate in (in this case not so grueling) children’s games. The winner can ultimately win a record prize money of the equivalent of 4.4 million euros.

However, Netflix did not release all the episodes of ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ at once. The first five episodes of the first season were released on November 22, 2023. Since the season has a total of ten episodes, you are in for a lot of excitement. But when? At least you don’t have to wait long, as episodes 6 to 9 will be available on Netflix on November 29. ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ is part of two offensives from the streaming giant. In the future, Netflix not only wants to focus more heavily on formats known from classic television programs (here the reality game show), but also lean on entertainment from South Korea. The latter is not surprising, not only because ‘Squid Game’ became a mega hit, but also because films and series from the country have also experienced an absolute hype in the West since the Oscar success of ‘Parasite’.
