This is also the last work of his film partner Glenda Jackson. So it is a double farewell. The British theater and film actress died on June 15, 2023, shortly after the recording of ‘In Full Bloom’. Jackson is remembered by a wider audience for her performances in films such as ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ and ‘Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots’. She appeared on camera with Michael Caine in ‘The Romantic Englishwoman’ in 1975.

Bernard Jordan (Michael Caine) spends his last days in a nursing home. But to join other comrades in remembering the soldiers who died 70 years ago during the landings in World War II, Jordan escapes from the nursing home and sets out on a journey that will bring him worldwide fame. But the memories of the war continue to weigh on his mind. He tries to get through this difficult time together with his wife Rene (Glenda Jackson).

In an interview with read Michael Caine ahead of the release of “In Full Bloom” made it clear that this would be his last film, because some of the shooting in the drama had already presented him with a great physical challenge and he could only shoot many scenes once: “They gave me a very good stick and I could act in scenes that required it.
