“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” was largely responsible for Will Smith becoming one of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry in the 1990s. For six seasons, the actor played young Will, who moves from Philadelphia to his wealthy uncle in Bel-Air to learn important life lessons.
Even though the sitcom is a big part of his life, Will Smith has huge problems with ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ – at least in the first episodes. When visiting The Graham Norton Show (via ), the “Bad Boys” star explained what exactly it was about:
“It was my very first role and I was very focused on success. So I memorized the entire script and everyone else’s lines. If you watch the first four or five episodes, you’ll see that I’m constantly repeating other people’s lines. It’s unbearable. I can’t stand to see this.”
An interesting piece of information that might now motivate you to take a closer look at the first episodes of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ – with an emphasis on Will Smith’s lips. As we know, this did not detract from his success, because with ‘Men in Black’ and ‘Independence Day’ the Oscar-winning actor for ‘King Richard’ was able to celebrate enormous success and become one of the highest earners in Hollywood.
And although Will Smith finds the first episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air unbearable to watch, speaking the lines of his co-stars shows enormous enthusiasm and dedication. A valuable quality that certainly ensured that the star of “Suicide Squad” made such a quick start in the film industry. Smith certainly did not lack effort!
