She is one of Germany’s biggest pop stars and has had one hit after another in recent years. ‘Breathless’ is one of the most successful. Helene Fischer released the song in November 2013, exactly ten years ago. For this anniversary, the singer has now recorded a very special version of the song – with rap.

However, Helene Fischer was not the only one in the studio. The 39-year-old received support from Shirin David. The two musicians are now letting their fans listen to the result before the official release next Thursday. They shared a video on Instagram showing them recording.

It becomes clear that not only did the sound of the chart success change, but entire rap verses were added to Helene Fischer’s hit. “The song takes on a new meaning through the words and I completely celebrate that,” the singer says in the video. However, not all her fans see it the same way. There are very divided opinions in the comments on the Instagram post.

Many users express their enthusiasm and are enthusiastic: “Best station wagon of all time”, “Simply great” or “I love everything”. But there are also many critical voices. “How low can you sink…”, “Please not with this Shirin, she has no style”, “Why do you stoop to such a level?” or “That no longer has anything to do with my Helene” can be read.

By the way, Helene Fischer and Shirin David will soon perform their ‘Breathless’ version on stage together. On November 25 they will appear in Thomas Gottschalk’s latest edition “Wetten,dass..?”. The presenter announced this at the end of October in the podcast ‘Die Supernasen’, which he does together with Mike Krüger.
