Shakira dedicated her Latin Grammy to the Spanish public

Shakira won the award for best pop song at the Latin Grammys this Thursday with Bizarrap for the song ‘Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’ and she dedicated it, among others, to the “Spanish public” who supported her “in difficult times”, referring to the already broken relationship with soccer player Gerard Piqué.

“They followed me through the good times and the bad, through the difficult times I was going through in this country that I loved so much. They never stopped supporting me and I will never forget it,” said the artist while collecting awards at a ceremony held in Seville.

WITH ‘Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’the singer broke the record by collecting almost 64 million views in just twenty-four hours on Youtubesurpassing “Slowly” (2017) by Luis Fonsi, which reached almost 25 million in just 12 hours.

That peak of media attention was not only because of him purely musical successesbut also to show as an autobiographical exercise of sentimental reproach in the midst of breaking off Colombian women with ex-partner.

His musical ally in this song, Argentinian Bizarrehe pointed out when receiving the award “that behind this song there is a lot of work in which Shaki managed to express what he feels, which is the most important thing”.

Shakira attended this ceremony at the Palacio de Congresses and Exhibitions in Seville (FIBES) together with his two children, Sasha and Milanwith whom he sat in the front row and who a few minutes later briefly became the co-star of the gala evening by interpreting part of the lyrics during his mother’s performance in the video.

Absent during ‘Premiere’the first part of the award ceremony, the Colombian previously won another one Latin Grammy for the collaboration with Karol G in ‘TQG’, the one with the best urban fusion/interpretation.
