We take a look at the future of “House Of The Dragon” and of course we can’t do that without book spoilers to George RR Martin’s templates. It is about a certain Gaemon Palehair / Hellhaar, one of the many bastards of Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney). And it could very well be that Gaemon Palehair we saw in episode 9 of House Of The Dragon – because he’s going to be important in the Targaryen story!
In Episode 9 of “House Of The Dragon”, brothers Arryk (Luke Titsor) and Erryk Cargyll (Elliott Titsor) go to the slums of King’s Landing in search of Aegon Targaryen, who has once again stolen from the palace to pursue his pleasures. This also includes betting on street children who fight each other with sharpened teeth and nails (this was taken from Martins’ book, by the way). In such a battle arena, Erryk draws his twin brother’s attention to a small, Targaryen-blonde boy: he would be one of Aegon’s many bastards.

Gaemon Palehair is about four years old in George RR Martin’s Targaryen storyline when the civil war called “Dance of the Dragons” breaks out. That’s right: the boy in the series could be about four years old and now the civil war is breaking out, after Aegon II was crowned king and Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) is also crowned in episode 10 on Dragonstone.

And it probably won’t be a coincidence that one of Aegon’s bastards was introduced into the series. Of course, right now Erryk wants to show his brother how depraved Aegon and the Greens are. But there could be a lot more behind it: Because if the blond boy is really Gaemon Palehair, then he will be important in the series – because he will lay claim to the Iron Throne.
Gaemon is the son of a prostitute named Essie, who claims to be Aegon’s son – and the boy’s white-blond hair supports her claim. In the course of the Civil War, the now-aged Gaemon makes the claim of his parentage public, and many believe him because of his appearance and Aegon’s frequent visits to the prostitutes of King’s Landing.
Thus Gaemon manages to gather thousands of followers who want to see him on the throne. They believe he will be a better king than Targaryen’s two warring siblings who started the civil war. This era in the Targaryen Civil War, when Gaemon and two other men in the capital had their supporters proclaimed as new monarchs, is called “Moon of the Three Kings”.
So after one of the next jumps in the upcoming seasons of “House Of The Dragon” there could be a reunion with the boy from episode 9. First of all, season 1 will come to an end on October 24, 2022 the tenth and so far last episode of “Game Of Thrones: House Of The Dragon“ to Sky and WOW (formerly Sky Ticket).
