After ‘Reacher’ became a huge success for the streaming service on Amazon Prime Video, it was clear that a second season would only be a matter of time. After less than two years, the wait is now over, because season 2 of “Reacher” is just around the corner: The new episodes will be released on Amazon Prime Video from December 15, 2023.
New episodes follow weekly exclusively on Prime Video worldwide, every Friday. The second season contains a total of eight episodes. The season finale will be released on January 19, 2024.
Alan Ritchson (“Fast Maria Sten, who was introduced in season 1 as Frances Neagles, plays a much larger and therefore more meaningful role in season 2. Lee Child’s novel ‘Trouble’ (originally: ‘Bad Luck And Trouble’) served as the template for the new episodes .
This is what season 2 of “Reacher” is about
Jack Reacher travels the United States as a vagabond with no luggage or the ability to reach it by traditional means. One day, Reacher sees an unusual, anonymous transfer to his bank account: someone has sent him $1,030. It is immediately clear to Reacher what the sum means: 10-30 is the military code used to request immediate help.
The former military agent then contacts his former colleague Frances Neagley and together the two soon discover that one of their old comrades is dead. Calvin Franz and three other members of the old team have disappeared from the face of the earth. It quickly becomes clear to Reacher and Neagley that one of them has encountered something he needs help with, but the mysterious enemy is powerful…
What will happen next for the series after season 2 of “Reacher” is not clear at this time. In total, Lee Childs has written more than twenty novels about Jack Reacher. However, a chronological order of book publications is not necessarily followed. The stories are largely self-contained anyway (with a few exceptions).
