Five Guys is coming to German-speaking Switzerland – that’s how much a burger costs

Even more fast food: Five Guys is coming to German-speaking Switzerland.

McDonald’s and Burger King will soon face competition in German-speaking Switzerland: Five Guys wants to conquer a new market.

The American family business is already represented in French-speaking Switzerland with three restaurants: one in Lausanne and the other two in Geneva.

A new branch will open in the fashion store in Landquart at the beginning of 2024. And Zurich residents can also hope for a location: when the locations in western Switzerland opened, it was made no secret that they also had a restaurant in Zurich in mind.

Five Guys has a reputation for serving fresher burgers than its competitors. This is also reflected in the price: In this country you pay 17 francs for a cheeseburger.

In addition to burgers, the menu also includes sandwiches, hot dogs and, of course, fries. There are also milkshakes and the usual soft drinks.

The name Five Guys comes from the fact that founding couple Janie and Jerry Murrell have five sons, all of whom are now actively involved in the company. For their branches they were inspired by American dinners from the 1950s. (anb)
