After “The Continental”: New “John Wick” series is already in the works

After ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ caused a stir in March this year, ‘The Continental’, a three-part prequel series set in the ‘John Wick’ universe, was released in late September. But the franchise has long been out of date. Although a fifth part is not yet off the table, the spin-off ‘Ballerina’ is expected to hit German cinemas on June 6, 2024, and will star Keanu Reeves alongside Ana De Armas.

But that is not enough. Chad Stahelskithe mastermind behind the ‘John Wick’ franchise and director of all four films, said in an interview with has now confirmed that another “John Wick” series is currently in the works.

“All the ideas our writers are currently working on, I swear to God, I love them all! If you told me tomorrow that I had to implement one of these things, I’d be like, ‘Cool! This is a great way to spend the year.” These are all nice ideas. And I have ideas about how I would implement them all. It’s so much fun keeping everything running. We are currently working on a series that will keep me busy.”

Stahelski explained that he would like to direct some episodes of the series “John Wick”, of which neither the title nor the content is known: “I would like to do some episodes of the series because I think it would be fun to try things that we couldn’t try in the movie. There are some great ideas. With a different cast, a different story structure and without John Wick, it would be an exciting challenge.”

Is this already a clear indication that Keanu Reeves will definitely not appear in the planned ‘John Wick’ series? Maybe. However, it does not rule out that Stahleski and the action star will work together again: “If Keanu calls me tomorrow with an idea or if I wake up tomorrow and say, ‘Hey, let’s…’ You know, I would love to be involved again want to hit John Wick.
