The wait is over on October 31: the new season of “7 vs. Wild” starts on Amazon Freevee. However, many fans strongly disagree with the plan. They were disappointed that the publication on YouTube did not take place until almost a month later. “7 vs. Wild” inventor Fritz Meinecke can only be surprised at the displeasure.
Now the survival expert has spoken out with a statement on YouTube. Many would wait for him to say something “to clarify some things,” Fritz Meinecke began his video. But he didn’t want to make it too big, he immediately announced, so as not to spread ‘negative vibrations’.
“7 vs. Wild” and especially the third season are “a huge learning experience for him and for the team in the background, in everything we do”. They are not professionals; After all, they haven’t been doing it for ten or twenty years. “We try things out and of course new problems and challenges arise,” he initially noted.
In the background they always try to improve things where possible. This also applies to season three. “Because yes, you have to admit it openly and honestly: there were problems at the location and during production,” he clarified.
But something else was important to him and that’s why he “made a decision” a few months ago. Instead of being both a participant and an organizer, this time he chose almost 100 percent for one side: that of the participant. But that also meant that he pulled himself further and further away from the organization. “I also gave up responsibility and was no longer involved in many decision-making processes,” he told fans. This also applies to the cut.
He is therefore not directly responsible for some of the decisions that have been made. He did not mention the exact situation, but said in retrospect that he did not want and could not blame anyone. However, it is clear to him: “I certainly made mistakes – I was perhaps a little too naive in some things in communication.” Because the project has become bigger, more complex and more difficult.
In his video, he also commented on what is probably the biggest criticism at the moment: Freevee’s long exclusivity period. Meinecke emphasized that without partner Amazon Freevee there would not have been a third season. “You also have to understand that you have ‘7 vs. Wild’ is not doing any harm by viewing it there. It is completely your decision whether you watch it on YouTube or on Freevee,” he explained, also emphasizing that they were all very satisfied with the collaboration with Freevee. He also called on fans to “just be honest” and not spread negative sentiment.
He should certainly make the fans very happy with something new. Because parallel to the start of the third season on Freevee on October 31 (a new episode every Tuesday and Friday), it will start simultaneously on YouTube, contrary to previous announcements. There won’t be a main episode at this time, but there will be a behind-the-scenes video every Tuesday.
As already announced, the most important episodes can also be seen on YouTube from November 29. A new episode will be online every Wednesday and Saturday at 6 p.m., Fritz Meinecke has now revealed. As in the past, there will be a total of 16 episodes. However, there will also be a 17th episode exclusively on YouTube, as he announced. “Why? How is that possible? Speculation is allowed,” he said knowingly.
