When Netflix includes licensed titles, meaning anything other than its own original titles, into its portfolio, they’ve usually been around for a while. Things now look different on many Sony titles! Thanks to a special deal, the streaming service is increasingly offering Sony titles that are relatively close to a theatrical release. This was recently the case with “65” and “The Pope’s Exorcist”. And in the case of “Spider-Man: About the Spider-Verse“ It’s just five months after the film’s release faster.
But of course, the latest big-screen Spidey adventure is far from the only streaming fodder that will make its way to Netflix in the coming days. Which (potential) Netflix highlights await you in the week from October 30 to November 5, 2023, can be found in the overview below, sorted by day of the week.
Monday: “Spider-Man: A New Universe” in progress
Netflix has not yet announced any new releases for Monday. The best opportunity to (re)watch the equally fantastic predecessor ‘Spider-Man: A New Universe’ in preparation for ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’, which is released on Wednesday.
Tuesday: Fantasy drama with 2 Marvel stars
Netflix also takes it a bit easier on Tuesdays. But there’s already concentrated Marvel power here. In fantasy drama “Nine days“ “Black Panther” giant Winston Duke judges unborn souls and decides which of them can actually travel to humans – until a free-spirited newcomer (“Deadpool 2” heroine Zazie Beetz) causes a stir.
Wednesday: Multiverse spectacle with Spider-Man
After the Oscar-winning animated adventure ‘Spider-Man: A New Universe’ thrilled us in 2018, the sequel goes one better in almost every way and sees Spidey Miles Morales delving even deeper into the multiverse madness (including countless other Spiders-Man variants).
With 4.5 stars in the FILMSTARTS review, the visually exuberant, wonderfully crazy and beautifully told sequel is for us nothing less than the best Marvel film of the year (even just ahead of the equally highly rated “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 “). The only downside: the film ends quite abruptly with a cliffhanger, the resolution will only come in the already announced third part “Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse”, which should be released at the end of 2024 or early 2025.

“Across The Spider-Verse” then overshadows the rest of Netflix’s mid-range new releases on Wednesday, including its licensed titles “Vertical limit“ And “Rumble – Winnie rocks the Monster League“ belong. There are also our own productions such as the French action comedy “Thieves“ by and with “Inglourious Basterds” star Mélanie Laurent, the thriller drama “Included“ with Famke Janssen and the documentary series “Mysteries of faith“ And “The Jens Soering case“.
Thursday: Star-studded meeting of the series giants
Expect us on Thursday “All the light we don’t see“ perhaps the biggest Netflix original of the week. The best-selling film adaptation, starring Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Laurie, Louis Hofmann and Lars Eidinger, sees two of the series’ heavyweights teaming up with ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight and ‘Stranger Things’ director Shawn Levy. The extended miniseries tells the moving stories of blind Frenchwoman Marie-Laure (Aria Mia Loberti) and young German soldier Werner (“Dark” star Louis Hofmann), whose paths cross during World War II.
In addition, the ‘Transformers’ collection, which already consists of the first five films (and several series), will also be available on Netflix with the heartwarming spin-off “Bumblebee“ increased.
Friday: All about Sly and an Oscar nominee
Things will remain exciting on the Originals front on Friday. Of “Cunning“ After Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hollywood’s next action icon now gets his own Netflix portrait, looking back at the career and eventful life of “Rocky” and “Rambo” star Sylvester Stallone.
We’re waiting next door “Nyad“ also one of this year’s Netflix Oscar hopefuls. The biopic about marathon swimming legend Diana Nyad (Oscar worthy: Annette Bening) combines sensitive biography and gripping sports film into a coherent and complex whole.
Saturday: Time for a Netflix movie – in the cinema!
On Saturday, Netflix will again abandon its extensive streaming offer, but you still don’t have to miss a new film from the provider with the red N. David Fincher’s excellent thriller comeback “The Killer” is currently in select theaters, which will then make its way to Netflix on November 10, 2023.
Sunday: Back to the cinema
And since Netflix is also on the back burner on Sundays, all film lovers can visit their favorite cinema again. We can also highly recommend the tragicomic new start ‘One For The Road’, in which Frederick Lau struggles to give up alcohol.
