The Disney film studio has presented American actress Rachel Zegler (22, “West Side Story”) in the iconic role of Snow White. On Friday, the entertainment giant released a set photo of Zegler in a yellow tulle skirt, surrounded by seven dwarf figures in a bright room. At the same time, Disney announced the theatrical release of “Snow White” for March 2025. The film was originally scheduled to be released in March next year. However, due to the ongoing actors’ strike in Hollywood, numerous projects were postponed to a later date.
Disney had already given the leading role of Snow White to the young star Zegler in 2021. Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) got the nod as the Evil Queen. Marc Webb (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) directs.
Designed as a musical, the remake of Snow White is a live-action adaptation of the classic fairy tale ‘Snow White’. Since 2016, Disney has been planning a live-action version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale about the beautiful Snow White, the queen’s evil stepmother and the helpful dwarfs. In 1937, the studio released its first full-length animated film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” (saw/sda/dpa)
