The National Film Fund Competition 2023 has started the call process, open until December 26, for individuals and legal entities of Panamanian nationality.
The contest is supported by the Cinematography Fund, granted by the Panamanian state to promote the national film industry, said Sheila González, national director of cinematography (Dicine) of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).

It is worth mentioning that Competition of the National Film Fund awards 2.2 million dollars in prizes divided into 4 categories: 1.8 million dollars among the first three places in fiction and animation3 awards of $100,000 each will be awarded for documentary production.
Meanwhile, for development the script there will be three prizes for 15 thousand dollars for each project and in the category of support for feature length fictions and documentary in phase post production $25,000 will be awarded to the top three results.
Since the application of the Cinematography Fund began in 2013, they have been financially supported 98 projects in four different categories, resulting in the premiere of 42 productions feature films and documentary films.
Furthermore, they currently exist 29 projects in different stages production.
