The return of “Walking Dead” has been confirmed! Now we get the series we were promised three years ago

Even before the long-running zombie hit “The Walking Dead” ended its eleventh season, it was clear that the stories of several fan-favorite duos would continue in new spinoffs. ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ transports Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) to New York, in ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ we discover how Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) after her departure from the main series…

…and a new spinoff should bring us new adventures from perhaps the most popular “Walking Dead” “couple”: Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). However, nothing came of this (for now). Carol actress Melissa McBride turned her back on the project because the production’s move to Europe prevented her from participating. The series, now aptly titled ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’, was subsequently adapted into a solo spin-off. But it won’t stay that way.

Melissa McBride returns to the ‘Walking Dead’ franchise in the second season of ‘Daryl Dixon’ – not just for a guest appearance, but as a lead actress. This was announced at New York Comic Con. This means fans are now treated to the series, which was first announced in 2020. To reflect the comeback, season 2 will be subtitled “The Book Of Carol”.

How will Carol return to ‘The Walking Dead’?

The fact that Carol is now involved in the series is not really a big surprise anymore, since Melissa McBride was spotted on the set of “Daryl Dixon” a while ago. However, her appearance was not officially confirmed for a long time.

Carol’s return does not necessarily mean that Daryl, who was stranded in France, will find his way back to the US in season 2. The filming of the Carol scene also took place in France. Apparently the logistical challenges for Melissa McBride had been overcome.

It is still unclear how exactly Carol ends up on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. But we have to be smarter in the coming days, Carol was scheduled to drop by for a brief appearance in the finale of the first “Daryl Dixon” season, set for Oct. 15 in the U.S.who then makes her full-fledged return in the second season.

When will “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” come to Germany?

“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carolis already in production in France and scheduled for release in 2024. Rick and Michonne’s miniseries “The Ones Who Live” also premieres in February of the same year. However, everything around ‘Walking Dead’ is currently taking a few months longer in this country.

“The Walking Dead: Dead City” just started today, October 13, 2023, on Magenta TV The first season of “Daryl Dixon” is scheduled to air at the end of this year, “The Ones Who Live” sometime in 2024 on the exclusive German streaming home of the new zombie spinoffs.
